CODY TALVY
From my first time going to the horns and hero’s in 2021 I was very nervous being a beginner and having no experience with roping but Charly and Trey made me feel confident and excited to be there. I’ve made some of the greatest friends through this organization and it’s grown so much that it feels more like family instead of friends. I was so excited when I earned the Top hand buckle that I couldn’t wait to tell my parents about it especially my father who suffers from PTSD from his military and first responder career. The next time I went back to horns and hero’s I brought my father along just to spectate so he could see what it’s like. After that he was so excited that he went and bought a horse and started to try to rope I could see that him being on a horse helped him release his pain. In the summer of 2024 my dad applied for the clinic and was accepted. We both benefitted in our roping and relationship after his experience there. To watch my dad struggle with pain and then seeing that all go away in the clinic because of what Charly, Trey, and all the people involved do was the most satisfying time I’ve had. When my dad caught his first steer and to turn it in a jackpot with everyone cheering him on he felt like he just won the world. I’ve been able to be saved through Treys ministry and be baptized with all my family and friends there. There is no greater organization that does the things that horns and hero’s does for our veterans and first responders not only roping but mentally and spiritually!
