OPPORTUNITIES TO GIVE BACK
BATTLE OF THE BRANCHES TEAM ROPING
Presented by the Liberty and Loyalty Foundation
The Battle of the Branches is a patriotic team roping event that brings together the western community to honor and support America’s military members, first responders, and their families. The event dates will be released soon and will take place at Park Your Pony Arena and will feature $47,250 in added money plus prizes across multiple roping divisions.
One of the highlights is the #10.5 Slide, a special division limited to teams representing military and first responder branches; including the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Law Enforcement, and Fire/EMS. Teams must rope with a partner from the same branch, creating a true battle of the branches inside the arena. Competitors may represent multiple branches if they qualify.
Additional roping divisions include #13.5, #12.5, #10.5, #9.5 (40 & Over), and #8.5, offering opportunities for a wide range of competitors to participate.
The week also kicks off with a team roping clinic April 15–16 led by professional ropers Charly Crawford and Trey Johnson, giving participants the chance to sharpen their skills before the main event.
Saturday evening will feature live music from the Clayton Lawson Band, a live auction, and free admission for spectators, making it a fun, family-friendly celebration of the western lifestyle and those who serve our country.
More than just a roping, the Battle of the Branches is a chance for the rodeo community to come together, compete, and give back to the men and women who protect and serve our nation.

UNITED WE BRAND
National Finals Rodeo header Charly Crawford, along with the foundations board of directors, continue to work hard to expand their outreach and offer new opportunities for servicemen and women. The first United We Brand event was held on Sunday, May 22, 2022.
“Branding is a community event for a lot of ranchers,” Crawford explained. “We have a community of service people that love the Western way of life so we wanted them to have more chances to experience it in an authentic way. We found local ranchers and started planning a day to work cattle.”
“What we see as a result of participating in the branding, teamwork, leadership and camaraderie are all things experienced in the military or as a first responder.” said Bill Force, who has a background in the military as well as law enforcement. “Giving military people an opportunity to have cowboy experiences is a natural fit. I saw that firsthand at the branding and heard many comments from others that were involved. It was a great day and we have a lot of people that can’t wait to do it again.”
