Captain R. Todd Hornbuckle, U.S. Navy (Retired), was born into a Wyoming cattle-ranching family in 1975. After completing his studies in mathematics and graduating from New Mexico State University’s United States Air Force ROTC program, he embarked on an aviation adventure that would shape his career. With over 5000 military hours, he has flown with both gold and silver wings, undertaking supersonic flights, combat sorties at altitudes above 70,000 ft, carrier takeoffs and landings, air-to-air combat training, high-speed low-level hops, and weapons delivery.
During his 17-year tenure with Delta Air Lines, Captain Hornbuckle has piloted Boeing 757, 767, and Airbus 330 aircraft, traversing nearly every continent on Earth. However, his most formidable aeronautical challenge came in 2016 when he found himself seated next to his seven-year-old daughter. Against insurmountable odds, he endured the unimaginable to reclaim his rightful place in the sky.
